My favourite thing about parties is all the fun and creative DIYs you can make! When Macy turned one last month we had awesome tissue paper tassel garlands across the ceiling and walls. These garlands are a big trend this year and look so cute in kids rooms. They do take a bit of time and effort which is why they aren’t cheap to buy a premade one so here is a simple DIY on how to make a garland!
What you need:
-an assortment of tissue paper
-scissors and string
Fold a piece of tissue paper in half and in half the other way. Cut thin strips towards the fold, leaving about 1 inch uncut where the fold is. Now you have some fringe! When all strips are cut, unfold the tissue paper and cut in half so you have 2 sheets with fringe (makes two tassels).
Take your tassel piece and roll it up tightly (where the fringe isn’t)
Twist the rolled part and create a loop which the string will be threaded through.
Thread your string or ribbon through the tassels.
Hang on your walls with two nails or washi tape!
