Spicy Salsa Fresca

This fresh tomato salsa fresca beats store bought salsa any day. It is super easy to whip up as an appy or to bring to a party. Be warned, the jalepeno and chili peppers give quite the kick so use wisely. Unfortunately I decided not to wear gloves while chopping the peppers and I still have hot burning hands…please wear gloves!

What you need:

  • 8 Roma tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of chopped green onion
  • 1/2 of an onion (chopped)
  • 2 diced Jalapenos
  • 2 diced chili peppers
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • juice of two limes
  • 2 tblsp of cilantro
  • salt to taste

  1. Take your chili pepper, green onion, garlic, oil, lime juice, salt and cilantro and blend in a mortar & pestle to create a yummy oil infusion mixture.

3. Put your salsa fresca in a pretty bowl on a platter of chips and eat it up!
